Tax coordination (Teum Mas) is an official certificate from the Israel Tax Authority that tells a secondary employer exactly how much tax to deduct. Without it, any employer that is not your main employer must, by law, withhold the maximum rate of 47% from the first shekel, because income tax in Israel is progressive and no single employer sees your total income. The process is free and done online, is valid for one tax year (January to December), and asks you to declare your employers. If you earn through NETO, add the legal entity Bareket I.T Ltd, deduction file 925435851, then upload the certificate PDF to your NETO portal under Form 101. Coordinate National Insurance too with Form 644 (NETO file 9254385100) to avoid double payments.

What it means

Tax coordination · so you are not over-taxed on a second income

Income tax in Israel is progressive, built on tax brackets. The system does not know in real time how much you earn across all of your jobs combined. To make sure you do not underpay, the law requires any employer that is not defined as your main employer to deduct the maximum possible rate, which is 47% from the very first shekel.

Tax coordination (Teum Mas) fixes this. It is an official certificate from the Tax Authority that instructs each of your employers exactly how much tax to withhold, based on your combined income. You complete it free online, declare every employer, and decide where your tax credit points (Nekudot Zikuy) apply. It is usually recommended to apply them to your main employer, the one paying the higher salary.

If you earn a salary or freelance income through NETO, we are one of your employers as far as the Tax Authority is concerned. NETO operates under the legal entity Bareket I.T Ltd, so if you have another job you simply add us to your coordination.

Why tax coordination matters

A few minutes online can keep thousands of shekels a year in your pocket, instead of tied up in over-withheld tax until an annual refund.

Stop the 47% deduction

Without a certificate, a secondary employer must withhold the maximum rate of 47% from the first shekel. Coordination replaces that with the correct rate for your total income.

Free and online

The whole process runs on the Tax Authority website. There is no fee and no paperwork by post, and for most people it takes only a few minutes.

Valid for one tax year

A certificate covers a single tax year, from January 1st to December 31st. You renew it every January, even if your employers have not changed.

Credit points in the right place

During coordination you choose where your tax credit points (Nekudot Zikuy) apply. Placing them with your main, higher-paying employer usually gives the biggest saving.

National Insurance too

Form 644 lets you coordinate National Insurance (Bituach Leumi) as well, so you avoid double payments to the National Insurance Institute across your jobs.

Refunded through NETO

If you coordinate late, upload the certificate to your NETO portal and the excess tax that was withheld is refunded in your next payslip, within the same tax year.

How to do it

From certificate to payslip · in five steps

You generate the certificate at the Tax Authority, then upload it to NETO. Here is the exact path, including the details you need for NETO.

  1. Log in to the Tax Authority system. Open the Israel Tax Authority online tax coordination system and identify yourself using a credit card or your government account credentials.
  2. Add NETO as an employer. Enter NETO using the legal entity Bareket I.T Ltd and deduction file number (Tik Nikuim) 925435851, alongside your other employers.
  3. Place your tax credit points. Decide where your tax credit points (Nekudot Zikuy) apply. It is usually recommended to apply them to your main employer, the one paying the higher salary.
  4. Upload the certificate to NETO. Log in to your NETO employee portal, open the Personal Details tab, select Form 101, scroll down and upload the certificate PDF under the Tax Coordination field.
  5. Coordinate National Insurance if needed. Complete Form 644 to avoid double National Insurance payments and upload it in the same section. NETO National Insurance file number is 9254385100.

Do not forget

Coordinate National Insurance too

Frequently asked questions

Tax coordination · questions and answers

How often do I need to renew my tax coordination?
Tax coordination is valid for one tax year only, from January 1st to December 31st. You must generate a new certificate at the start of every year, even if your employers have not changed.
What happens if I do not do it on time?
A secondary employer is legally required to withhold the maximum rate of 47% from your salary. You can still perform the coordination retroactively within the same tax year. Once you upload the new certificate to NETO, the excess tax that was withheld is refunded in your next payslip.
What are NETO employer details for the coordination?

I am a pensioner and also work, do I need this?
Yes. A pension is considered taxable income. If you receive a pension and also earn a salary or freelance income through NETO, you must coordinate tax between the pension payer and your employer.
Can I just ask NETO to do it for me?
No. The Tax Authority requires the worker to perform the process personally, because it involves private data about your other income sources that NETO is not privy to.
Do I need to coordinate National Insurance too?
Yes, it is highly recommended. Complete Form 644 to avoid double payments to the National Insurance Institute and upload it in the same section of the NETO system. NETO National Insurance file number is 9254385100.
